Immerse yourself in Kyoto's charm with the 5-star Hotel Okura Kyoto, located only 5 minutes' stroll from Honno-ji Buddhist Temple and offering ticket service to help you get the most out of your trip. Boasting the opportunity to go on a picnic by Kamo River, which runs just 30 metres away, this Kyoto hotel offers to relax in a charged indoor swimming pool.
Location
The hotel is nestled close to the business district of Kyoto and right near the Kamo river "Sanjo-Ohashi Bridge". Popular natural sights near the Okura Kyoto are Takase River (250 metres) and Murinan Garden (1.8 km).
Guests might as well enjoy proximity to Tomikouji Park, situated merely 9 minutes' stroll away. Also, Kyoto City Zoo lies a mere 1.7 km away, and Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae underground station is in close proximity to the accommodation.
The Okura provides access to Karasuma train station, which is nearly a 15-minute walk away.
Rooms
The elegant rooms in this Kyoto hotel have a flat-screen TV with satellite channels along with air conditioning. The bedrooms come with extra long beds. Offering a separate toilet and a shower/bath combination, the bathrooms are also fitted with a hairdryer and bathrobes. Hotel Okura Kyoto also offers luxurious views of the river from the room windows.
Eat & Drink
Food options for dinner are available at one of 7 on-site restaurants. The restaurant serves international cuisine. Guests can enjoy time in the lounge bar. The neighbourhood features restaurants, including Sushi no Musashi, which is 350 metres from the property.
Leisure & Business
This hotel offers entertainment spaces such as a cinema. There is a fitness centre with a wide range of sports.
“What I find compelling is the hotel's preserved 'old modern' Kyoto vibe, transporting you back to the '70s, '80s, or '90s. The direct subway access is a major plus. It's a blend of luxury and culture, making it a strong choice for both vacationers and business travelers.”

Central location with great access
convenient location separate sinks rainfall shower
I really appreciated the central location. It made sightseeing easy. The subway was directly accessible from the hotel. The room included two separate sinks and a rainfall shower. The breakfast had both western and japanese style options (i liked the miso soup).
I found that the gym required an extra daily fee.

helpful staff great location dated room coffee policy
the staff was helpful. the location is great for exploring.
The room felt small and a bit dated. The single drip coffee bag policy seemed cheap for a supposedly luxury hotel? extra coffee cost 216 yen each, i thought it was excessive.

The hotel shuttle from the train station was convenient. I used it when departing. my room had amazing views, and the staff remembered my birthday with a special greeting, how sweet! the daily newspaper and abundant amenities. breakfast was also really good!!!
the basement area felt dimly lit and navigating it was a little challenging, especially early in the morning. better lighting would improve safety.
